Safran is back open after our winter hiatus and we are ready for the warmer months! During our break, chefs Suleyman, Mehmet and Tayfun traveled back home to Turkey for a few weeks to visit friends and family. They were also inspired by some great Turkish food and have updated the Safran menu with some delicious new dishes for Spring on the Central Coast.
One of the new favourites is Inegol Kofte. There are hundreds of different kofte varieties in Turkey, and this particular style originates from Inegol in the Bursa region. The kofte style was originally brought to Turkey by Bosnian immigrants and feature a really light and fluffy texture. Served with our chilli capsicum puree and roasted eggplant, they are becoming a very popular meze. Make sure you try them next time you dine at Safran restaurant!
